Bihar Chief Secretary Pratyaya Amrit says no "untoward incident" reported, urges people to vote

Bihar Chief Secretary Pratyaya Amrit on Thursday said that polling across the state has been peaceful so far with no untoward incidents reported.

Patna (Bihar) [India], November 6 (ANI): Bihar Chief Secretary Pratyaya Amrit on Thursday said that polling across the state has been peaceful so far with no negative OR "untoward" incidents reported.
After casting his vote in Patna, he urged people to come out and exercise their right to vote, saying Bihar has always set an example.

Speaking to ANI, Pratyay Amrit said, "As per information received till now, no untoward incident has been reported anywhere. Bihar has always set an example, and we will conduct this election well."
"It is a very important day, and I have come here along with my family to cast my vote. I appeal to the voters to exercise their right to vote," he said.
Voting for the first phase of the Bihar elections 2025 is underway.
Bihar recorded a voter turnout of 27.65 per cent in the first four hours of the first phase of assembly elections, according to the data of the Election Commission of India.
The Begusarai district recorded the highest turnout of 30.37 per cent, while Patna, the capital of the state, recorded a slow turnout of 23.71 per cent till 11 am.
Polling will conclude at 6 pm, and due to security considerations, polling time has been curtailed to 5 pm in some constituencies.
The first phase will decide the fate of several senior leaders, including RJD's Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, BJP leaders Samrat Choudhary and Mangal Pandey and JD(U)'s Shravan Kumar and Vijay Kumar Choudhary. Tej Pratap Yadav is also in the fray in the first phase.
The 2020 polling took place in three phases. The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) secured 125 seats, while the opposition won 110. Among the major parties, the Janata Dal (United) bagged 43 seats, the BJP bagged 74, the RJD secured 75 seats and the Congress 19. The JD(U) contested 115 constituencies, and the BJP 110, whereas the RJD contested 144 seats and the Congress 70. (ANI)
