Bihar: Body of Andhra student found hanging at NIT Patna hostel room

The police said that a suicide note has been recovered from the room of deceased and they have started investigation in this matter.

Patna (Bihar) [India], September 21 (ANI): The body of a student at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Patna was found hanging in her room at the hostel premises, said police officials on Saturday.
According to the police officials, the body was found on Friday hanging in her room in Kadambini Hostel of NIT Patna, situated in Bihta Campus.
As per the police, the deceased student was a resident of Andhra Pradesh.
A case has been registered and the body has been sent to the Danapur Hospital for further medical procedures, including post-mortem.
The police said that a suicide note has been recovered from the room of deceased and they have started investigation in this matter.
The press statement from Patna Police reads, "On 20.09.2024, information was received from NIT Campus Bihta, Bihar at around 22:00 hrs that a NIT student has committed suicide by hanging herself in her room on the fourth floor of Kadambini Hostel. When we reached for necessary action on the said information, the doctor of ESIC Hospital declared her dead. The said deceased is a resident of Andhra Pradesh."
"The body has been sent to Danapur Hospital for postmortem and a case has been registered in this regard and FSL TEAM has been informed for necessary action. A suicide note has been recovered from the room of the deceased. The said room has been sealed. Its investigation is being done on all points. The family of the deceased has been informed in this regard," it added. (ANI)
