Bidar lynching: Kin of victim appeal for justice

Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], July 16 (ANI): The parents of the lynching victim in Karnataka's Bidar on Monday appealed to the Karnataka and Central Government to initiate stern action against the accused involved.

Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], July 16 (ANI): The parents of the lynching victim in Karnataka's Bidar on Monday appealed to the Karnataka and Central Government to initiate stern action against the accused involved.
Speaking to ANI, the father of the lynching victim, Mohammed Azam, said, "My son Azam went to Karnataka he was killed there because of fake rumours, people should first identify the suspected persons and should hand them over to the police."
"My son was an engineer and was working in a software company. I request the Karnataka Government and Central Government to initiate stern action on the accused persons who are involved in lynching my son and should also initiate action the persons who are spreading these fake rumours in social media and put an end these fake rumours. So that no else should die like my son Azam," he added.
Mohammed Azam, a 32-year-old software engineer, was lynched to death on Friday.
The incident took place when Azam and his two friends, who hail from Hyderabad, were visiting their friend Mohammed Bashir in Mandikera village here.
During their visit to the village, they went to sit by a lake where they offered chocolates to some students. The parents and the locals objected to it, realizing they didn't belong from there.
As the men were trying to leave, villagers gathered in groups blocking the road and started assaulting them. During the attack, Azam died on the spot
Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka G. Parameshwara on Monday said 30 people have been arrested so far. (ANI)
