Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], March 23 (ANI): Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Sunday reflected back on three years of his governance, noting the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code, anti-conversion bill and other schemes.
Speaking to the press at the 'Fit India Run' event organised to promote an active lifestyle among citizens, Dhami reflected on three years of his governance and expressed gratitude for electing him then.
"I express gratitude to the people of Uttarakhand that three years ago, under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi, they broke a myth and changed tradition and formed a consecutive government of the BJP," Dhami said.
Dhami further highlighted the key schemes implemented by the Uttarakhand government in the past three years such as the Uniform Civil Code, anti-conversion law, and strict anti-cheating law.
"Uttarakhand has become the first state of the country to implement Uniform Civil Code (UCC). We brought a strict anti-cheating law...We broke the back of the cheating mafia and over 100 cheating mafia were sent to jail...We also brought a strict anti-conversion law...Be it love jihad, land jihad or illegal encroachment and illegal madrasas, we took action on all of that." Dhami said.
On Friday, Dhami highlighted how in the last three years, more than 50,000 young people have been provided self-employment under the Chief Minister Self-Employment Scheme.
"Government is constantly striving to make the youth of the state empowered and self-reliant. In the last three years, more than 50,000 youth have been provided self-employment opportunities under the Chief Minister Self-Employment Scheme," read a statement from the CM's office.
Highlighting another scheme of the state government for women empowerment, Chief Minister Dhami described his three-year tenure as "three years of service, good governance and development"
Dhami stated that he has made a provision of 30 per cent horizontal reservation for women in government jobs, which is an important step towards providing equal opportunities to women and their socio-economic empowerment.
"Under the 'Chief Minister Mahila Swarojgar Yojana', more than 30,000 women have been provided self-employment opportunities, which has strengthened their economic condition and made them self-reliant," Dhami said. (ANI)
