"Baba Sri Chand Ji Maharaj carried forward Guru Nanak Dev Ji's legacy of human welfare": Haryana CM Saini

Chandigarh [India], November 15 (ANI): Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said that Baba Sri Chand Ji Maharaj, son of Sant Shiromani Pratham Patshah Sri Guru Nanak Dev Maharaj, carried forward his father's tradition of human welfare by embodying his principles and values.
The government will organize a national-level program in Jyotisar on November 25 to commemorate the 350th martyrdom day of Hindi ki Chadar Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, the Ninth Guru. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to participate in this event.

The Chief Minister made these remarks at a program held on Saturday at the Udasin Sri Brahm Akhara Sahib Mandi in Pehowa, Kurukshetra, marking the 531st Prakash Utsav of Baba Sri Chand Maharaj.
During the event, Chief Minister paid ardas to Sri Guru Granth Sahib. He, along with former Minister of State Subhash Sudha, was honored with a siropa by Baba Gurvinder Singh Maharaj, founder of the Udasin Shri Brahm Akhara Sahib. Extending his heartfelt greetings on the occasion, the Chief Minister paid respectful obeisance to Baba Sri Chand Maharaj, a revered servant of humanity.

Chief Minister highlighted that the Udasin Sri Brahm Akhara Sahib, following the ideals of the Gurus, actively organizes blood donation camps, marriages for underprivileged girls, sports competitions, and other social initiatives. Sports competitions are being conducted here today, reflecting the continuing legacy of service and community engagement.
He added that Baba Sri Chand Ji Maharaj, the eldest son of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, was devoted to spirituality from a young age and dedicated his life to the welfare of humanity, leaving a lasting legacy of compassion and service.

Nayab Singh Saini said that following the example of Baba Sri Chand Maharaj, Baba Gurvinder Singh Maharaj, with his dedication and enthusiasm, has inspired love, compassion, brotherhood, public service, and a strong drive for success in the lives of many individuals.
To achieve this remarkable mission, he established the Udasin Sri Brahm Akhara Sahib, setting a rare standard of spirituality that is exceptional in any human being. The Chief Minister said that the Udasin Sri Brahm Akhara Sahib has made significant contributions to human welfare, reflecting its enduring commitment to service and societal well-being.

Chief Minister said that, given our connection to the Gurus' sacred legacy, it is our duty to embrace their teachings of harmony, tolerance, brotherhood, and mutual love in our daily lives.
He emphasized that celebrating the birth anniversaries of great Gurus at the state level allows us to draw inspiration and learn valuable lessons from their exemplary lives. The Chief Minister added that the younger generation must meet modern challenges successfully while remaining rooted in our ancient and noble culture, and that the country and society greatly benefit from the constructive guidance of saints and sages in this endeavor.

He further said that there is no place for corruption, crime, or caste-based politics in the state. With the blessings of saints and spiritual leaders, the government is committed to maintaining political integrity at all costs. The Chief Minister also reaffirmed the state's determination to become drug-free, adding that whenever support has been sought from saints and sages for drug de-addiction initiatives, it has been wholeheartedly provided.
