Jammu (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], November 8 (ANI): Following the killing of two Village Defence Guards in the Kishtwar region of Jammu and Kashmir, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders condemned the attack and said that the government will take strict action against the militants.
BJP's National General Secretary Tarun Chugh called the killing of VDGs an "attack on humanity," and said, "The act is not just an attack on innocent lives but an attack on humanity. Attacking those who are working to protect their village, their region. We will face such people firmly and we have full faith in the security forces. We have destroyed the conspiracy of annihilation in Jammu and Kashmir before. It will be destroyed in future also. We will keep on punishing those who commit heinous crimes, they will have to pay the price for it."
J-K BJP President Sat Sharma recounted how the Kishtwar region maintained its peaceful atmosphere even before the elections, and blaming Pakistan for the attack.
"Kishtwar is a region which has maintained its peaceful atmosphere, before elections and after elections too. But today, the killing of two VDGs is a very sad incident and I condemn it. Pakistan is directly responsible for it. On instructions from Pakistan, the terrorists want to disturb the atmosphere here. These sacrifices will not go in vain. I also believe that the people who are responsible for it, they will not be spared, The PM and Union Home Minister are making all efforts to maintain peace in the country," Sharma told ANI.

BJP MP Praveen Khandelwal highlighted that Home Minister Amit Shah talking about an anti-terror policy for the country during the inaugural session of the 'Anti-Terror Conference-2024'.
"The incident is very unfortunate. We have no place for terrorism in the country, yesterday also Home Minister Amit Shah also has said that the government will make an anti-terrorism policy too. The Indian government has taken various steps to eradicate terrorism, we hope that the J&K government will fulfil their obligations and take action against the incident," the BJP MP said.

Shah announced that the Ministry of Home Affairs is taking the next step in its proactive approach to combat terrorism and will come up with a National Counter Terrorism Policy and Strategy.
"We are taking the next step in the proactive approach that the Home Ministry has made to fight terrorism, terrorists and the terrorism ecosystem. We will come up with a National Counter Terrorism Policy and Strategy," he said.
Party leader Kavinder Gupta further alleged that the locals might have been involved in the attack too.
"I believe this incident could not have happened without the help of the local people...The brutality and ruthlessness with which it has been done makes it clear that they are trying to run their same old model of terrorism. The Lieutenant Governor had said that those who are involved in this need to be identified," he told ANI.
Earlier, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said that he is "deeply" saddened and concerned by the attack
Abdullah further said that security forces should ensure that such attacks are stopped "completely." (ANI)
