Assam: Woman killed after attacked by wild elephant in Goalpara

A woman was killed in Assam's Goalpara district after being attacked by a wild elephant on Tuesday, according to a forest official.

Goalpara (Assam) [India], October 17 (ANI): A woman was killed in Assam's Goalpara district after being attacked by a wild elephant on Tuesday, according to a forest official.
Forest Range Officer of Goalpara district, Sashi Mohan Singha, said that the incident occurred during the morning hours of Tuesday.
He further informed that the incident took place on the Solmara-Goalpara connecting road in the Bhalukdubi area where a wild elephant attacked the woman.
The deceased woman has been identified as Mehbuba Ahmedm, said the officer.

"She was attacked by the wild elephant when she was on her way to receive her daughter. The woman died after being attacked by a wild elephant," said Forest Range Officer, Singha.
Singha also informed that the body of the woman was sent to Goalpara Civil Hospital for post-mortem by the forest officials.
On the other hand, a wild elephant was also found dead near the Sesapani Rongrampara area of Dudhnoi in Goalpara district on Monday, said officials.
Locals found the dead elephant near a paddy field and informed the local forest officials. (ANI)
