Tamenglong (Manipur) [India] October 10 (ANI): Assam Rifles organised a Yoga and Meditation Camp in the J Pabram Village of Tamenglong district of Manipur on the occasion of World Mental Health Day on Thursday.
The event was organised to raise awareness about mental health and to mobilize efforts to support those experiencing mental health issues among youth and the elderly. The camp focused on taking care of mental health with the help of Yoga and Meditation, as per an official press release.
Approximately, 100 villagers including children, youth and elderly from five villages attended the Camp with enthusiasm. The attendees were further urged to propagate the message of positive mental health, personal health and social well-being through which one can reach their full potential and live a satisfying and enriching life, the press release stated.
The local populace appreciated the initiative that highlighted Assam Rifles' commitment in bringing the locals together in the efforts towards improving and caring for mental health.
Meanwhile, Assam Rifles also conducted a lecture on World Mental Health Day at Shining Star School, Aizawl, Mizoram on Thursday.

The aim of the event was to raise awareness about mental health, encourage open conversations, and promote mental well-being among students, faculty, and the wider community, as per an official press release.
The lecture was delivered by renowned mental health professionals, who emphasized the significance of recognizing mental health as an essential part of overall health, and the importance of emotional intelligence and coping mechanisms in students, the press release stated.
The students appreciated the efforts of Assam Rifles in maintaining a peaceful environment in the area and requested the organization for more such events in future. (ANI)
