Assam Rifles holds medical camp in far-flung area of Mizoram

The Medical Camp was conducted by Assam Rifles in collaboration with Star Hospital, Hyderabad. A team of specialist Doctors (Ortho), came from Hyderabad to provide treatment to the people of Mizoram staying in far-flung areas of the border villages.

Saitaul (Mizoram) [India], December 15 (ANI): The Assam Rifles on Friday organised a "Medical Camp" with a team of Doctors from Hyderabad at Kawlbem village of Mizoram's Saitaul District.

The Medical Camp was conducted by Assam Rifles in collaboration with Star Hospital, Hyderabad. A team of specialist Doctors (Ortho), came from Hyderabad to provide treatment to the people of Mizoram staying in far-flung areas of the border villages.

The medical camp aimed to provide specialist medical advice and treatment to the local populace, as there are no medical specialists in border villages.
A team of four doctors, including two specialist doctors from Hyderabad and two doctors from Assam Rifles, conducted the medical camp successfully. The camp saw a very positive response from locals. The team examined 321 patients, including ladies, children and elderly people, from eight villages of Saitual and Champhai districts. The patients were given expert medical advice, requisite medicine for their ailments and required medical equipment (crutches).
Apart from providing medical assistance, basic knowledge on health education including precaution from common diseases related to bones and joints was also imparted.
In addition, the team also elaborated on the significance of hygiene and sanitation for better living standards.
The local populace expressed their deep gratitude towards Assam Rifles and appreciated the sincere efforts done by Assam Rifles to provide specialist medical care in such far-flung areas. (ANI)
