Guwahati (Assam) [India], October 27 (ANI): Assam police arrested Dipankar Barman who is one of the main accused in a multi-crore trading scam in the state. Dipankar Barman has been absconding for the last one month.
In a post on X, Assam Police DGP GP Singh said, "Finally, Dipankar Barman arrested at Goa. The run ends. Congratulations Team Guwahati Police."
Assam Government has recently transferred over 40 cases related to the multi-crore trading scam to CBI.
In a post on X, Guwahati Police said, "Absconding accused Dipankar Barman of DB Stock scam has been arrested in Goa by a Team from CGPD under the leadership of Amit Mahato, IPS, ACP Pan Bazar with the support of Crime Branch of Goa Police in connection with an ongoing investigation."

Earlier, Assam police arrested Bishal Phukan, Swapnanil Das, Assamese actress Sumi Borah, and photographer Tarkik Borah in connection with the cases.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma appealed to the people to stay away from online illegal trading scams.
CM Himanta said, "There is no way to double or triple your investment overnight. As Assam Police undertakes a crackdown against the masterminds of an illegal trading scam, I urge people to stay away from such frauds."
The Chief Minister also mentioned that a total of 38 people were arrested by police in connection with an online trade scam in Assam.
Assam Police had arrested 22-year-old youth Bishal Phukan from Dibrugarh and Swapnanil Das from Guwahati in connection with a Rs 2,200 crore financial scam involving fraudulent online stock market investment. (ANI)
