Assam Governor visits Indo-Bangladesh Border in Dhubri; lauds BSF personnel unwavering dedication

Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya on Sunday visited the Ram Rai Kuti Border Outpost of Dhubri district and interacted with the BSF Jawans in Sainik Sammelan at the BOP centre.

Dhubri (Assam) [India], September 22 (ANI): Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya on Sunday visited the Ram Rai Kuti Border Outpost of Dhubri district and interacted with the BSF Jawans in Sainik Sammelan at the BOP centre.
During his visit, the Governor was received by Makrand Deuoskar, Inspector General, BSF Guwahati Frontier. They held discussions on the operational preparedness and functioning of the BSF along the International Border.
The Governor was honored with a Guard of Honor on this occasion. The Assam Governor interacted with field commanders, Seema Praharis, and representatives of the local border population.
As part of his visit, he planted a sapling to encourage environmental protection and promote greenery in the region. During this visit, a courtesy meeting was held with the staff officer of the 22 Bn Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), where there was an exchange of bouquets.
The Governor lauded the BSF personnel for their unwavering dedication and commitment to duty, stating that the Nation is indebted to these bravehearts whose service instills confidence and pride among the people of India.
He assured the full support of the state government in coordinating efforts to prevent border crimes and facilitate cooperation with the local police.
The Assam Governor along with District Commissioner of Dhubri Dibakar Nath visited the Ram Rai Kuti Border Outpost.
The Assam Governor visited the Border fencing, border pillars, old Mahamaya Mandir situated at the Indo -Bangla border and also participated in a plantation programme and then further entered the BOP centre for a brief interaction with the BSF Jawans which he first initiated with his valuable speech.
The Assam Governor also visited the Ram Rai Kuti village field to interact with the villagers.
In his speech, he said that Ram Rai Kuti village is the final vilage of the state but in due time it will be awarded the dignity of the first village of the state. He further added that the idea came up to him when he visited villages and the local villagers assured that if any problem arises the villagers will be the first one to face it.
He further stated that all the facilities like education, electricity etc and all the basic facilities will be made available in the village and that by his next visit he will inspect and try to be cognizant of the needs of the villagers.
The Assam Governor was facilitated with Phulam Gamocha, Seleng Sadar and Japi and then he interacted with the representatives of the various SHG groups and offered them gifts. (ANI)
