New Delhi [India], Nov 22 (ANI): Former Congress leader Ashok Tanwar on Friday approached the Supreme Court seeking a modification of its earlier order which had paved the way for re-construction of Ravidas temple in Delhi's Tughlakabad area and sought the shrine to be made a "permanent structure."
Former Additional Solicitor General (ASG) Vikas Singh, representing Tanwar, mentioned the matter before a bench headed by Justice Arun Mishra for early hearing.
The counsel sought the temple to be a "permanent structure" and not a "portacabin made of wood" as stated in the court's order.
The top court had, on October 21, accepted Centre's proposal for the reconstruction of the temple at the same site where it was demolished by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) two months ago. It also increased the area for construction from 200 to 400 square meters.
Tanwar had earlier moved an application seeking a revision of the order and said that the court had accepted their demands but the same did not reflect in the order.
"It appears to have happened due to typographical and clerical mistake, which requires modification," he stated in the petition. (ANI)
