Arunachal Pradesh: Army, ITBP organise joint cycle rally to promote "Fit Nation" at Aalo

The Indian Army, in coordination with the IndianTibet Border Police (ITBP), successfully organised a 20 km joint cycling rally as part of the Fit India initiative at Aalo, West Siang.

West Siang (Arunachal Pradesh) [India], October 22 (ANI): The Indian Army, in coordination with the IndianTibet Border Police (ITBP), successfully organised a 20 km joint cycling rally as part of the Fit India initiative at Aalo, West Siang.
The event occurred on October 21 2025, as per a release.
The event highlighted the synergy, interoperability and operational camaraderie between the two forces while promoting physical fitness and endurance among service personnel.
The rally saw participation from Army and ITBP officers, Junior Commissioned Officers and other ranks, who traversed the challenging 20 km route together. This joint activity reinforced coordination, teamwork and mutual understanding between the two forces, strengthening Jointness and esprit de corps, a release said.
"Medical, logistical and safety arrangements were efficiently managed by the Indian Army, ensuring smooth conduct of the event. The initiative aligns with the objectives of Fit India, emphasising wellness, discipline and the importance of physical readiness in operational effectiveness", the press release said.
The joint cycling rally at Aalo stands as "a model for inter-agency collaboration, demonstrating how combined efforts in non-combat activities enhance coordination, interoperability and professional bonding between security forces, while simultaneously fostering a culture of fitness, endurance and operational preparedness," the press release stated.
According to the Fit India website, the movement was launched on August 29, 2019, by the Prime Minister with a view to making fitness an integral part of our daily lives. The mission of the movement is to promote behavioural changes and encourage a more physically active lifestyle.
To achieve this mission, Fit India proposes to undertake various initiatives and conduct events to accomplish the following objectives: to promote fitness as easy, fun, and free. To spread awareness on fitness and various physical activities that promote fitness through focused campaigns.
To encourage indigenous sports and make fitness reach every school, college and university, panchayat and village, etc. It also creates a platform for India citizens to share information, drive awareness, and encourage the sharing of personal fitness stories. (ANI)
