Tiruchirappalli (Tamil Nadu) [India], September 3 (ANI): As the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi approaches, the preparations for the festival are going on in full swing in Tamil Nadu as the artisans craft multiple eco-friendly Ganesh idols.
Visuals from Tiruchirappalli and Madurai district show artisans hand painting various Ganesh idols for the upcoming festival, with the market bustling with the full festive fervour in both the districts.
Idols of different sizes, colours, designs were seen in the market, available for purchase. Some idols coloured green, some blue, others showing lord Ganesh sitting on a cow or a lion, showcasing the artistic skills of the artisans.
Along with this, the artisans are using herbal colours on the idols, to not pollute the water like chemical colours during submersion of the idol. The painters are busy giving the final colours of the idols in the districts.
Meanwhile in Jaipur, the idol makers are also making eco-friendly statues as the festival approaches. Sculptors in large numbers were seen constructing idols of Lord Ganesh at the JLN Marge in Jaipur. The buyers are also visiting the shops to book their favourite idols.
There is a high demand for eco-friendly idols, prompting many sculptors to use less plaster of paris and more clay in most of the idols.
Multiple cities around the country are gearing up for celebrating the festivities with a full pomp and show. Delhi, Mumbai, the Kashmir valley and multiple other cities are set to witness extraordinary celebrations for Ganesh Chaturthi.
Lalbagh ka Raja, a renowned statue of Lord Ganesh from Mumbai is set to make an apperance in Delhi this year.
Ganesh Chaturthi celebrates the birth of Lord Ganesha. It is one of the most popular Hindu festivals which is celebrated for 10 days. People believed that during this time, Lord Ganesha arrived on Earth with mother and Goddess Parvati. (ANI)
