Chittoor (Andhra Pradesh) [India], Aug 22 (ANI): An Army jawan, belonging to Ellaapalli village in Andhra Pradesh's Chittoor district, has made a video urging the authorities and public to help his mother and save their land from encroachment.
The video was made by T Chandra Babu on Monday which he shared with his kin and villagers through WhatsApp. However, the government authorities have denied any such incident of land grab.
"I Chandra Babu and my brother Devender hail from Ellapalli village, Gangadhara Nellore Mandal, Chittoor district. I and my brother have been in the Indian Army for 17 years. Two persons named Sobhan Babu and Sambasiva Rao grabbed 3 acres and 60 cents land of ours," Chandra Babu said.
"They created fake documents and grabbed our land. They threatened our mother that if she opens her mouth, they would kill her. My brother and I are unable to come home as we have no leaves. So, I request the village administration and youth to protect our mother. Please do justice to us, share this video until it reaches Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy," he added.
As the video went viral, the village administration plunged into action. Mandal Revenue Officer Bhavani told ANI over the phone that the land grab allegations are false.
She explained that Chandrababu's mother and his elder brother's wife have 5 cents of land which was allotted to them. "That land is in the possession of their family. No land was allotted to the soldier brothers in the area as being claimed by them. The land grabbers, as claimed by Chandrababu, are relatives of the family. There are few disputes between both families but there is no issue of land grab," she said.
The MRO further explained that the soldier's family wants road connectivity to their house. There is a road on the front side, yet they want a road in the backyard too.
The area is surveyed, and the MRO has allotted a 13-feet road in the lane behind the houses. (ANI)
