Army Commanders to hold conference to discuss issues related to operations, human resource

New Delhi [India], October 6 (ANI): The Army Commanders' are set to conduct a conference from October 9 to October 15, where in they are expected to discuss current and emerging perspectives on various issues related to operations, logistics, administration human resource management and welfare of troops.

New Delhi [India], October 6 (ANI): The Army Commanders' are set to conduct a conference from October 9 to October 15, where in they are expected to discuss current and emerging perspectives on various issues related to operations, logistics, administration human resource management and welfare of troops.

"This time there is a change in the conduct of the conference where in each Army Command will put forth their view points and concerns on various issues, which have a bearing on the field formations and the Indian Army as a whole," the press statement by the Indian Army stated.

This will be followed by the Principal Staff Officers of the Integrated Headquarters of the Ministry of Defence (MoD) providing updates on current issues being undertaken and also give responses on the issues raised by respective Army Commands.

The conference is an Army level forum for issue based discussions and is presided over by the Chief of Army Staff and attended by all Army Commanders Principal Staff Officers and Director Generals.

The press statement also said that Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman shall also be addressing the senior officers of the Indian Army.

There will be an interaction with the MoD officials with the participation by the Defence Secretary and other senior officials of the Ministry of Defence.

"This event provides a platform to interact and address outstanding issues with the ministry. This would be the first such interaction for our Defence Secretary Sanjay Mitra," said the statement.

In a separate segment, the Army Commanders shall discuss Military Secretary's Branch matters as well.

In addition to discussions on officer cadre related management issues, the Special Selection Board for promotion to the rank of Lieutenant General and nomination of officers for the National Defence College Course and Advanced Professional Program in Public Administration Course will also be carried out.

The Army Commanders' Conference will be conducted from October 9 to 15, 2017 at New Delhi. (ANI)
