Army commander visits Poonch sector to celebrate Diwali with troops

Poonch (Jammu And Kashmir) [India], Nov 7 (ANI): General Officer Commanding in Chief (GOC) Northern Command, Lieutenant General Ranbir Singh, accompanied by the White Knight Corps Commander, Lieutenant-General Paramjit Singh, on Wednesday visited forward posts of Poonch Sector to convey Diwali greetings to troops.

Poonch (Jammu And Kashmir) [India], Nov 7 (ANI): General Officer Commanding in Chief (GOC) Northern Command, Lieutenant General Ranbir Singh, accompanied by the White Knight Corps Commander, Lieutenant-General Paramjit Singh, on Wednesday visited forward posts of Poonch Sector to convey Diwali greetings to troops.
During the visit, the Army Commander distributed sweets to Army and Border Security Force troops deployed in the area and also complemented soldiers for measures and standard operating procedures instituted by the units and formations in their area to minimise the casualties due to ceasefire violations and infiltration bids, read a statement.
The Army Commander also exhorted all ranks on the need to remain vigilant to counter the enemy and anti-national elements and ensure a robust counter infiltration and counter-terrorist grid to enable continued peace and stability in the region. (ANI)
