Army Chief reviews operational preparedness along western borders

New Delhi [India], Mar 9 (ANI): Army Chief General Bipin Rawat visited Western Command Headquarters on Saturday and reviewed the operational preparedness along the western borders, an official statement said.

New Delhi [India], Mar 9 (ANI): Army Chief General Bipin Rawat visited Western Command Headquarters on Saturday and reviewed operational preparedness along the border, an official statement said.
Western Army Commander Lt Gen Surender Singh updated Gen Rawat on the current operational situation, prevailing security environment and preparedness of the formations in Amritsar and Samba sectors.
Gen Rawat interacted with officers of the Command Headquarters and complimented them for maintaining the highest standards of training, operational readiness and exemplary synergy with the Indian Air Force.
The Army Chief directed the formations to ensure continued state of vigilance and alertness and be prepared to decisively deal with emerging challenges that may develop.
The Indian Air Force and Army have already been put on high alert along the international border and the Line of Control (LoC) to respond to any possible action by Pakistan Air Force.
This comes amid the heightened tension between India and Pakistan following the Pulwama terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir
