Army Chief meets Operational Army Commanders on Western Board

Chandigarh (Punjab) [India], July 9 (ANI): Chief of Army Staff General Bipin Rawat, today reached Mamun Military Station, part of the Western Command in the process of his continuous endeavour to form a bridge between the Army Head Quarters, Delhi and the various command head quarters of the Army.

Chandigarh (Punjab) [India], July 9 (ANI): Chief of Army Staff General Bipin Rawat, today reached Mamun Military Station, part of the Western Command in the process of his continuous endeavour to form a bridge between the Army Head Quarters, Delhi and the various command head quarters of the Army.
Western Command has its Head quarters in Chandigarh.
The Army Chief along with Lt Gen Surinder Singh, GOC-in-C, Western Command were received by Lt Gen YVK Mohan, General Officer Commanding (GOC), Rising Star Corps who briefed them on the operational preparedness of the area of his responsibility.
Air Commodore P Mohan, AOC, Air Force Station Pathankot was there to receive the General officers.
An officer privy to the meetings told ANI, "Chief was briefed of the various exercises and the validations done." "Chief is aiming to form a bridge between the various formations and the Army Head quarters. Indian Army is organised into seven commands."
Apart from the GoC the Rising Star Corps, Army Chief and the Western Army Commander were also briefed by the GOsC of the Tiger and the Gurj Divisions about the operational preparedness and upgradation of security infrastructure.
General Rawat lauded the morale of the troops and was confident about the preparedness of Indian Army to meet any threat manifested by inimical or anti national elements. (ANI)
