Arms, ammunition recovered from Manipur's Kangpokpi district

Huge arms and ammunition were recovered in the Kangpokpi district of Manipur on Friday morning following a search operation by the security forces, the officials said.

New Delhi [India], October 13 (ANI): Huge arms and ammunition were recovered in the Kangpokpi district of Manipur on Friday morning following a search operation by the security forces, the officials said.
Manipur Police, in a post on X, said that Kangpokpi District Police along with Assam Rifles and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) launched a search operation on the morning of October 13 at Singda Kuki village under Kangchup PS of Kangpokpi District.
"During the operation following weapons were recovered. Arms--one improvised pumpi, 2 improvised projectile launcher, 2 muzzle loading rifles, 1 303 rifle and ammunition--303 magazine with ammunition - 3 nos, 2 country made rounds, 1 lathode bomb," it said.
Earlier on Thursday, weapons and warlike stores were recovered during joint combing operations by security forces in violence-affected Manipur, an official said on Thursday.
According to a defence spokesperson, an extensive search of the area by the security personnel of the Assam Rifles, Border Security Force and Churachandpur Police was launched on Thursday.
"Responding to a specific intelligence regarding the presence of a cache of arms and ammunition, a joint team of Assam Rifles, Border Security Force and Churachandpur Police in the general area of Gothal-Phoulijang in Churachandpur district on 12 Oct 2023 launched a search," the official said, adding that it led to the recovery of the arms and ammunitions.
