Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India] April 22 (ANI): A massive cleanliness drive in Bengaluru under the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has successfully cleared approximately 3,570 tons of waste and building debris has been cleared from 458 locations in two days, said a press statement on Tuesday.
The cleanliness drive, which has been organised for 10 days across the city, is actively being carried out in all the zones, and the Zonal Commissioners are also personally visiting the places where the cleanliness work is being done and supervising it.
All the officers and staff working in Bangalore Solid Waste Management Limited (BSWML) are personally present at the places where the cleanliness work is being done and are working hard to successfully complete the clearance operation.

Waste, C&D waste, and wooden logs/branches on the roadside and in vacant lots within the BBMP limits are being cleared.
Of the 1,533 identified locations across eight zones, about 458 locations have already been cleared, representing 30% of the targeted areas. The remaining 1,075 locations will be cleared in the coming days.
Cleaning work is being carried out in eight zones of the city using more than 13 JCBs, more than 10 tippers, more than 60 tractors, and more than 170 personnel.
We appeal to all citizens not to throw waste on the roadside or in empty spaces in the city but to give waste to the auto tippers that visit every house and collect waste daily.
If you see places where garbage is being thrown in the city, you can call the corporation's helpline number, 1533, and complain. Alternatively, complaints regarding garbage can be filed through the Sahay 2.0 software.
The cleanliness drive reflects the city's commitment to maintaining a clean environment for all its residents. (ANI)
