Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], October 19 (ANI): Congress leader G Niranjan told ANI about his petition to the Election Commission of India on the appointment of Indrasena Reddy as the Governor of Tripura. He stated that the appointment is against the Model code of conduct.
Expressing displeasure over the appointment of Nallu Indrasena Reddy as the Governor of Tripura, Congress leader G Niranjan said, "During the period of the enforcement of the Model code of conduct no new appointments should be made by the state government or the union government. There are certain restrictions on the functioning of political parties, general public and officers"
Niranjan expressed shock over the appointment of Nallu Indrasena Reddy, who belongs to Telangana, as a governor of Tripura.
"We are surprised how the Rashtrapati Bhawan issued a communication in appointing a person from Telangana, Nallu Indrasena reddy as Governor of Tripura.
Niranjan further alleged that the decision of the appointment of N Indrasena reddy has been done on the advice of the Central Government and is taken to influence the people of Telangana.
"We requested the EC to indebtedly go into the details of it and advised the Rashtrapati Bhawan to withdraw that communication", Niranjan said.
"We are not against appointment of the Governors but during the period of the enforcement of Model code of conduct, it should not happen", he added. (ANI)
