Andhra SI, injured in road mishap, dies

Rachakonda [Hyderabad] [Andhra Pradesh], November 3 (ANI): An Andhra Pradesh police officer, who was injured in a road mishap, succumbed to his injuries at a hospital here on Friday.
Lakshman, who was a sub-inspector posted at Miyapur Traffic Police Station, died in a city hospital. He was 56.
"Lakshman was returning home on his bike when after duty when the car hit him from the rear. The driver fled the scene, while Lakshman was rushed to a hospital. Today, he succumbed to his injuries in the hours" said Alwal Assistant Commissioner of Police.
Section 304-A (Causing death by negligence) of the Indian Penal Code would now be added into the case.
The police have also retrieved the CCTV footage which shows a speeding car hitting Lakshman's bike.(ANI)
