Andhra Revenue Services Association condemns YSRCP for threatening officials

Amaravati (Andhra Pradesh) [India] February 21 (ANI): Andhra Pradesh Revenue Services Association today condemned YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) MP Vijay Sai Reddy for his vindictive action against Special Chief Secretary to Chief Minister, Satish Chandra.

Andhra Pradesh Revenue Services Association president B Venkateswarlu appealed to YSRCP president Jagan Mohan Reddy to prevent his party leaders from making unwarranted allegations against civil servants and government employees.

"We are condemning the personal allegations leveled by Vijay Sai Reddy against senior IAS officer Satish Chandra. Reddy had recently alleged that the officers are unnecessarily involved in other issues and performing unnecessary business. Earlier also YSRCP leaders have threatened the state's employees saying that if their party comes into power they will see to the end of all the employees who favour the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) government. If they continue this tendency, the officers and employees will be demoralized and ultimately will not serve the public in a proper manner," the YSRCP president told ANI.

He added that it is the job of Jagan Mohan Reddy to see that these types of personal allegations do not take place.

YSRCP MP Vijaya Sai Reddy has been making allegations against some civil servants recently.

He made allegations on Satish Chandra, IAS, Special Chief Secretary to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and IPS (Additional Director General) Venkateswarlu.

Vijaya Sai Reddy even threatened of transferring the employees once their party comes to power.

On February 18, he reiterated the same allegations at a meeting in Visakhapatnam.

This issue comes amidst controversy over Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs' assault of Delhi Chief Secretary.

Earlier, Jagan Mohan Reddy verbally threatened to send IAS officer and Krishna district collector to Central Jail. He had also manhandled the collector.

The Andhra Pradesh IAS Officers Association condemned Reddy's threat and sought action against him. He was also booked with criminal charges for the attack.

In another incident, Jagan threatened the senior police officers in Vishakhapatnam and said they were trying to stop someone 'who could be the next chief minister of Andhra in another two years'.

He also indicated he was aware of the police officers' names and will take action against them when he becomes the chief minister.

Jagan was accompanied by Vijay Sai Reddy and other leaders who also resorted to threatening.

Several IAS officers went to jail and are still facing charges in Jagan Mohan Reddy's quid-pro-quo case. (ANI)
