CM Chandrababu Naidu visits flood affected areas in Singhnagar (Source- I and PR, Andhra Pradesh)

Vijayawada (Andhra Pradesh) [India], September 2 (ANI): Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu visited the flood-affected areas in Singhnagar here and reviewed the relief measures being provided to the affected people.
Accompanied by government officials, he inspected the flood-hit areas on Sunday, an official said.
Further, the Chief Minister instructed officials to distribute food and water bottles to the affected people.
He personally supervised the food distribution to ensure it reached the affected people, a statement said.
During his visit, the Chief Minister assessed the situation and discussed the relief measures with officials.
He directed them to take the necessary steps to provide assistance to the flood victims.
Additionally, CM Naidu stated that he will stay in Vijayawada Collectorate for Sunday and Monday and monitor the flood situation.
The Budameru Vagu river, also known as 'Sorrow of Vijayawada,' has been in spate following heavy rains and has led to a flood-like situation in various parts of the city.
Aerial visuals from Vijayawada show rainwater filled in several areas of the city.
Heavy rainfall on Sunday led to severe flooding in the Rama Krishna Puram area of Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh, submerging houses, and cars.
Police and NDRF teams-initiated rescue and relief operations, relocating affected residents to rehabilitation centres.
The IMD has also issued a weather warning for the next five days.
The weather department has forecast heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightening.
For the next four days, isolated places in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam are expected to experience thunderstorms with lightning.
Earlier on Saturday, a house in Mogalrajapuram collapsed due to a rock falling from a hill, resulting in the death of a woman.
Two other women were hospitalised, and their condition was said to be stable.
According to the officials, the house collapsed after a rock fell from the top of the hill amid heavy rainfall.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu held a review meeting on Saturday, instructing officials to remain vigilant and alert in rain-affected areas. (ANI)
