New Delhi [India], October 3 (ANI): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu is set to visit Delhi on October 7 for a series of high-level discussions with key national leaders.
The primary focus of his visit is to meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah to discuss critical developmental projects for the state. One of the top priorities on the agenda is securing World Bank funding for the development of the state's capital, Amaravati.
In addition to these meetings, Chief Minister Naidu has also requested an appointment with Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.
The discussions with the Railway Minister are expected to revolve around advancing crucial railway projects, particularly for finalising the "Bhumi Puja Muhurta" (groundbreaking ceremony) for the much-anticipated Vizag Railway Zone. This zone is considered a significant step in improving transportation and infrastructure in the region.
Naidu's visit is seen as an important effort to further strengthen Andhra Pradesh's development initiatives, especially in securing central support for both infrastructure projects and international funding opportunities.
His engagements in Delhi could have far-reaching impacts on the state's growth trajectory, particularly with the potential backing of the World Bank for Amaravati and the finalisation of key railway projects.
Earlier on October 2, the Andhra CM launched the country's first-ever skill census pilot project in the Mangalagiri constituency, aiming to assess skill levels through a door-to-door survey.
The skill census is currently being conducted in the Mangalagiri Assembly constituency and Thullur Mandal.A total of 1,61,421 families are being surveyed, including 1,35,914 households in Mangalagiri and 25,507 households in Thullur, with 675 enumerators carrying out the process.
Staff from village secretariats, the Skill Development Department, Centre for Development and Advancement of People (CDAP), and the NYK department are involved, under the supervision of the Skill Development Headquarters. The primary objective of the Skill Census project is to identify the skills of the youth and provide necessary development to improve employment opportunities.
The government has committed to creating 2 million jobs in both the public and private sectors over five years, taking significant steps in this direction. The government plans to link industries with polytechnic colleges, create job opportunities in ITI colleges, and hold monthly job fairs in each district. The Skill Census will gather data on unemployment, skills, age, and preferred job locations, helping to create a comprehensive approach to improving employment prospects. (ANI)
