Vijayawada (Andhra Pradesh) [India], May 31 (ANI): Andhra Pradesh BJP chief Daggubati Purandeswari met Governor Abdul Nazeer on Friday to discuss the mounting debts of the State Government and alleged misuse of funds by the ruling YSRCP.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, Daggubati Purandeswari said, "We have met the honourable Governor today to bring to his notice the alarming debts of the State Government and the misuse of funds by the YSRCP government. The Secretariat itself has been pledged by the government, and we have also noticed that incorporated corporation funds and credits have been diverted. We have raised questions about the debts of the State Government of Andhra Pradesh."
Highlighting her concern, she pointed out, "The economic situation of Andhra is in the doldrums today. We have asked the governor about the status of loans of Andhra Pradesh. There have been instances that RBI guidelines have been flouted and thus we sought a detailed report on it."
She added that the state government has also incorporated many cooperations and through them, they have raised a lot of loans which is incorrect. Now the state government has said that they have nothing to do with these cooperations.
"These cooperations don't even have revenue. The PF of govt employees have been diverted. The centre's money for villages has also been diverted," she emphasised.
She expressed her concern saying that due to the poor economic conditions in the state, it will be very difficult to manage no matter which party comes to power in Andhra Pradesh.
The BJP leader submitted a memorandum to the Governor, detailing the party's concerns about the financial mismanagement of the State Government. The meeting assumes significance in the wake of the ongoing political tensions in the state.
Daggubati Purandeswari's meeting with the Governor is seen as a move to put pressure on the YSRCP government to come clean on its financial dealings and to take steps to address the mounting debts of the state. The BJP has been critical of the YSRCP government's handling of the state's finances. (ANI)
