Aligarh (Uttar Pradesh) [India], Oct 16 (ANI): Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Public Relation Officer (PRO) Omar Peerzada on Tuesday informed that the suspension of two students have been revoked after the fact-finding committee report went through the evidence and concluded that suspension would be harsh for their act and conduct.
Peerzada said, "We had constituted a three people fact-finding committee to look into the matter of an unlawful assembly. University stands for the Nation-building and we synchronize the potential of the students to the optimum, to elevate the nation, to make the best professional and imbibe them with a sense of belongings towards the nation. When this thing came to our knowledge through a section of media, we categorically asserted that there is zero tolerance and we suspended two students and constituted an inquiry because we have to take action."
"But as per the fact-finding committee who has looked into the whole incident, they analysed the evidence and concluded that suspension should be revoked with immediate effect as the act of conduct does not call for such suspension. They have found that there should be counselling and orientation of the students," he added.
He also informed that this is a district administration matter and the University would be sharing fact-finding committee's inference with them.
Earlier, students were suspended after a group of them attempted to gather inside the university premises following the death of terrorist Manan Wani in Kashmir. (ANI)
