Amritsar: In a joint op , BSF along with Punjab Police recover heroin weighing 550 grams

BSF along with Punjab Police recover one packet of heroin wrapped in yellow adhesive tape from Amritsar border on Friday. The narcotics weighed 550 grams and steel ring and a mini torch was also found attached to the packet.

Amritsar (Punjab) [India] October 4 (ANI) : In a successful joint search operation by Border Security Force and Punjab Police, the troops recovered one packet of suspected heroin weighing 550 Grams in a farming field adjacent to village Daoke in Amritsar district, Public Relation officer, BSF said on Friday.
"Based on specific information of BSF Intelligence wing about heroin presence , received on October 3, the forces swung into action and successfully recovered one narcotics packet in the night hours," he informed.
"The narcotics packet was wrapped in yellow adhesive tape, further secured with blue tape. A steel ring and a mini torch was also found attached to the packet, " the PRO added.
The officer further said, "Reliable information with quick coordinated response of BSF and Punjab police made yet another successful recovery of narcotics consignment smuggled by drone from across the border."

Additionally, SAS Nagar Police busted an international drug syndicate, and arrested 2 persons - Sukhdeep Singh and Krishan. The raid led to the seizure of 1.5 Kg Heroin and the exposure of Afghan handlers based in Delhi, connected with international drug cartels. Arrested Sukhdeep Singh was previously involved in a kidnapping case in 2020 and was out on bail since May 2024.
The Punjab policse said the operation disrupted global narcotic supply chains, dealing a significant blow to international drug cartels & safeguarding Punjab's youth. The Police said it is committed to make drug-free state.

Meanwhile, acting on specific intelligence BSF Punjab troops, in coordination with Punjab Police launched a search operation and recovered a packet containing 550 grams of heroin. The narcotics packet, wrapped in yellow adhesive tape and further secured with blue tape, had a steel ring and a mini torch attached to it. The recovery was made from farming fields near Daoke Village in Amritsar district. BSF said it remains fully committed to curbing the influx of narcotics from across the border and is continuously strengthening its surveillance and operational capabilities to dismantle drug trafficking networks in the region.
