Amit Shah to inaugurate exhibition on new criminal laws in Kurukshetra on Oct 3; CM Nayab Saini reviews preparations

Chandigarh (Haryana) [India], September 16 (ANI): Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah will visit Kurukshetra on October 3, 2025, to inaugurate an exhibition on the newly implemented criminal laws.

To ensure smooth arrangements for the event, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini chaired a meeting with senior officers in Haryana on Tuesday.

While reviewing the preparations for the exhibition and the inaugural ceremony, the Chief Minister directed that the exhibition should run for 4-5 days, allowing students, parents, and people from all walks of life to visit and understand the changes introduced into the criminal justice system. He also emphasised the importance of holding lectures and panel discussions on the new laws, with active participation from legal experts and members of civil society.

He said that the exhibition should also highlight real-life examples where heinous crimes were solved swiftly after the enforcement of these laws. This will help people see the positive impact of these reforms.

Highlighting the importance of the initiative, the Chief Minister said that the primary objective of the exhibition is to raise awareness and educate citizens about the significant reforms introduced in India's criminal justice system through the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister directed the officers concerned to ensure the necessary arrangements for the success of the event.

Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi, Chief Principal Secretary Rajesh Khullar, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Dr. Sumita Misra, Additional Chief Secretary (Higher Education) Vineet Garg, Director General of Police Shatrujit Kapur, Director General (Prisons) Alok Kumar Roy, Director General (Information, Public Relations and Languages) K. Makarand Pandurang, Additional Director General of Police (CID) Saurabh Singh, and other senior officers were also present in the meeting. (ANI)
