Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh) [India], Oct 15 (ANI): With Assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh inching closer, Bharatiya Janata Party President Amit Shah on Monday fired yet another salvo at Congress president Rahul Gandhi and asked him to stop dreaming of winning.
Shah, who addressed two rallies in Madhya Pradesh today encouraged his party workers to toil hard to ensure a historic win for the BJP in the upcoming state polls.
He said, "Rahul baba says Congress will form Government in Madhya Pradesh, I want to tell him that he has every right to dream but he should not daydream, that also with open eyes."
He also took the occasion to criticize the Congress party for not giving consent to the Triple Talaq bill and for cornering Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the issue of surgical strikes.
Shah said, "When we took revenge through Surgical Strike, Rahul Gandhi said that Modi ji is indulging in political profiteering from the blood of brave jawans. I want to tell him that his sight is not fine and he has Italian spectacles over his eyes. Muslim women were demanding for a law against Triple Talaq for many years but Congress got afraid of extremists and did nothing."
Shah, while addressing his party workers underlined that they need to work towards ensuring BJP's win in more states.
"This is not the peak of BJP. We have to still win West Bengal, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Telangana. People of these states are looking towards Madhya Pradesh. We have to uproot Congress from its foundation in these elections. This should be a euphoric win that should turn into a storm by the time it reaches Delhi and would take shape of Tsunami when it reaches Bengal. It has to uproot all our opponents from their foundations," Shah added.
Earlier in the day, Shah also addressed a Women Convention in Satna and outlined the benefits of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojna and other women-friendly initiatives introduced by the BJP-ruled Centre.
"BJP has kept women at the center of all welfare schemes. Ujjawla Yojna benefited around 60 lakh women in Madhya Pradesh. The maternal mortality rate has come down to less than 170 deaths, from 335 deaths per 1 lakh women," he said.
The election in Madhya Pradesh is being seen as a direct political battle between the incumbent BJP and the Congress. The counting for single phase assembly polls in the state will take place on December 11. (ANI)
