"Always wanted to help people": Iqra Farooq, second topper in JKAS exam, shares her journey

A resident of Srinagar and horticulture graduate, Iqra said, "I kept my complete focus on KAS after 2021."

Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], November 1 (ANI): Iqra Farooq, the second topper of the Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service (JKAS) 2023 Combined Competitive Examination, expressed her desire to be in a position to support the people.
A resident of Srinagar and horticulture graduate, Iqra said, "I kept my complete focus on KAS after 2021."
"I secured the second rank in my second attempt. The exam is challenging; you have to be mentally strong and need the financial support of your parents. I am very grateful to my parents," she said while speaking to ANI.
She said, "I always wanted to be in a position where I can help people. Civil Services was always on my mind."
Iqra credited her success to three factors: "my parents, my hard work, and the support of God."
Her cousin, Suriya, expressed pride in Iqra's achievement, saying, "We are feeling very proud at the moment as she passed such a tough exam. It was her aim, and she struggled a lot."
The Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission announced the results of the Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) on October 30.
The commission has asked 71 candidates who cleared the exam to undergo a medical examination in accordance with relevant rules.
A total of 30,756 candidates were provisionally allowed to appear for the preliminary examination, which was conducted on October 15, 2023. Of these, 18,882 candidates participated in the examinations.
