Patna (Bihar) [India], October 12 (ANI): As the 2025 Bihar elections approach, Congress leader Akhilesh Prasad Singh informed that the process of seat-sharing is also reaching the final stage.
He confirmed that the announcement will be made in the upcoming days.
The Congress leader said, "The seat allocation is almost done, but at the last moment, some difficulties arise in all parties, these are there in the NDA as well and here too. Everything will be announced in 1-2 days."
On Saturday, Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) MP Shambhavi Chaudhary on Saturday said the party held a central parliamentary board meeting, chaired by party chief Chirag Paswan, and added that the party's National President will take the final decision of seat sharing.
She also added that "talks are still ongoing".
Speaking to ANI, LJP (RV) MP said that all MPs and senior office-bearers participated in the meeting, which she described as "very positive and good."
"Today, there was a meeting of our central parliamentary board. This meeting was chaired by the national president, Chirag Paswan. All MPs and office-bearers of the party were present in it. A very positive and good discussion took place," Chaudhary said.
Earlier, Lok Janshakti Party (Ramvilas) Chief Chirag Paswan remained tight-lipped about the seat-sharing announcement.
"I have nothing to say now. All seat-sharing-related announcements will be made later," Paswan said in a brief remark as he was on his way from his residence in Delhi to the party office to have a possible discussion on seat-sharing.
This upcoming electoral contest will be between the NDA, led by the BJP, and Janata Dal (United) (JD(U)), and the INDIA bloc, led by Tejashwi Yadav of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD).
The INDIA bloc also includes the Congress party, the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) (CPI-ML) led by Deepankar Bhattacharya, the Communist Party of India (CPI), the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPM), and Mukesh Sahani's Vikasheel Insaan Party (VIP). Additionally, Prashant Kishor's Jan Suraaj has also staked claims on all 243 seats of the state.
Meanwhile, political parties in Bihar have stepped up preparations for the forthcoming assembly polls, with a series of meetings in Delhi and Patna aimed at firming up seat distribution.
The Election Commission has announced the schedule for the Bihar Assembly elections. The 243 Assembly seats will go to the polls in two phases on November 6 and November 11, with the counting of votes scheduled to take place on November 14. (ANI)
