"All allegations being made are by people form opposition who are anti-Sanatan Dharma": President of Akhil Bharatiya Akhada Parishad

President of Akhil Bharatiya Akhada Parishad, Mahant Ravindra Puri on Thursday spoke on the Mahakumbh stampede issue and said that the allegations being made were made from the people by the opposition parties and were anti-Sanatan Dharma.

Prayagraj (Uttar Pradesh) [India], January 30 (ANI): President of Akhil Bharatiya Akhada Parishad, Mahant Ravindra Puri on Thursday spoke on the Mahakumbh stampede issue and said that the allegations being made were made from the people by the opposition parties and were anti-Sanatan Dharma.
Further, he said that it was not right to levy any allegations on anyone and efforts should be made for the peaceful conduct of the Mahakumbh.
"Those who are making such allegations are the opposition parties and are anti-Sanatana Dharma... this incident has happened because of their evil eyes. I have no hesitation in saying this. The anti- Hindus caste their evil eyes and that is why such an unfortunate incident occurred...." The President said speaking to ANI.
"This time, it is not right to levy allegations on anyone, our efforts should be to make Mahakumbh take place very well," he further added.
UP Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh said that the injure people are being treated very well.
"36 injured people are admitted here...all are being treated very well and arrangements have been made for the attendants who are with them...these people belong to different places like Deoria, Delhi and Bihar, their families have been informed...no one is in serious condition but some of them have sustained fractures, it will take up to 3 weeks for them to recover, there are 2-3 such cases," he said.
UP DGP Prashant Kumar said that the state government had set up a judicial commission to enquire into the incident.
"State govt has set up a judicial inquiry commission. Presently, we came here to discuss how we can conduct Basant Panchami 'Amrit Snan' well and how we can provide better facilities...we also reached the spot where this incident took place and went to the Medical College and met people who are undergoing treatment. No one admitted here is critical, some of them have sustained fractures...we will make better arrangements for Basant Panchami and ensure such incidents don't happen again," the DGP said.

This comes after atleast 30 people were killed and 60 were injured in the pre-dawn stampede on Wednesday at the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj. Among the deceased, four are from Karnataka, one from Assam and one from Gujarat, the DIG said, adding that 36 people were being treated at a local medical college.
Uttar Pradesh government has announced financial assistance of Rs 25 lakh for the families of the deceased.
Maha Kumbh, which started on January 13, will continue till February 26. The remaining significant 'snan' dates in Maha Kumbh are February 3 (Basant Panchami--Third Shahi Snan), February 12 (Maghi Purnima), and February 26 (Maha Shivaratri). (ANI)
