Aligarh village tense after clash over toilet demolition

Aligarh (Uttar Pradesh) [India], November 4 (ANI): Tension gripped Khurrampur village of Aligarh district on Saturday after a person was killed and 10 others injured in a clash between two groups over demolition of a toilet.
District Magistrate Rishikesh Bhaskar said the two groups clashed after the landowner along with some people tried to demolish the "illegally" constructed toilet.
"The person had bought land 7-8 years back. Now he found a toilet constructed on his land. He had also registered a complaint in this regard. Some people tried to illegally demolish the toilet which triggered the clash. Firing also took place," Bhaskar said.
He further said that after the investigation it was found that the toilet was built long ago.
"Investigation was conducted earlier and it was found that it was built long back, can be removed after directions from the court," he said.
Authorities have launched a probe into the matter. (ANI)
