New Delhi [India], April 2 (ANI): The Airports Authority of India (AAI) celebrated its 30th Annual Day on April 1 with great enthusiasm and grandeur at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, marking three decades of excellence in serving as the mainstay of Indian Civil Aviation.
The celebrations began with a warm welcome by Vipin Kumar, Chairman, AAI, highlighting the organisation's achievements and commitment to India's aviation growth, aligning with the vision of 'Viksit Bharat 2047.'
Kumar applauded the dedication of AAI's workforce and noted India's rise as the third-largest domestic aviation market, as the number of operational airports has increased from 74 to 159 in the past decade. With 75 AAI airports running on 100 per cent green energy, he emphasised AAI's role in sustainable growth. He congratulated the AAI fraternity on recording the highest-ever profit to the tune of Rs6,711 crores in FY 2024-25.

While addressing the gathering, Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu praised AAI's pivotal role in nation-building and highlighted AAI's capex plan of Rs 25,000 crore for FY 2024-29 to meet rising aviation demand. He announced the development of 50 new airports in the next five years, strengthening India's global aviation standing.
He also spotlighted transformative initiatives like RCS-UDAN, SUGAM, DigiYatra, and UdanYatri Cafe, reaffirming the government's commitment to making aviation more accessible, efficient, inclusive, and eco-friendly.
A significant highlight of the event was the felicitation of AAI's Prayagraj Airport team for their exemplary contributions to the seamless and successful operations during MahaKumbh 2025.
Naidu acknowledged their dedication and tireless efforts in managing the increased footfall at the airport during MahaKumbh with aplomb. Adding to this momentous occasion, the AAI Commercial Manual 2025 was officially released by the dignitaries, marking another significant step towards streamlining AAI's commercial functioning and ensuring better service delivery.

Vumlunmang Vualnam, Secretary, MoCA, congratulated AAI on marking 30 glorious years and commended the dedicated efforts of AAI employees in spearheading aviation growth through technological innovation and the modernisation of aviation infrastructure.
The cultural segment of the evening featured a mesmerising Ganesh Vandana and a dance performance by the renowned 'Sadhya' dance group, followed by a vibrant folk dance performance by artists from the Northeast, showcasing the rich cultural diversity of India.
Later, the stage was set for a spectacular musical rendition by famous playback singer Shreya Ghoshal, leaving the audience spellbound.
The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr H Srinivas, Member (HR), expressing gratitude to the dignitaries, AAI employees, and all those who contributed to the success of the celebrations.
