AIADMK is a minority govt: Stalin

Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], Dec 29 (ANI): Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) working president MK Stalin on Friday took a potshot at the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) government in Tamil Nadu and termed it to be a "minority" one.

"The present government is a minority government. Union government is being a mute spectator of it. Therefore, in the coming Tamil Nadu assembly session, we will raise questions on this," Stalin told the media.

His statement has come after sidelined AIADMK leader TTV Dhinakaran took oath as MLA from RK Nagar constituency.

Dhinakaran took oath on Friday at the Speaker's chamber as an Independent MLA.

He had on December 24 won the RK Nagar by-polls by a margin of 40,707 votes.

Dhinakaran got 89,013 votes, while E Madhusudhanan secured 48,306 votes, Maruthu Ganesh got 24,651 votes, while Karu Nagarajan amassed 1417 votes.

The RK Nagar constituency went to polls on December 21, necessitated by the death of former Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa in December last year.(ANI)
