AIADMK doesn't need BJP's help, claims party leader

Chennai (Tamil Nadu), Oct 22 (ANI): All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) leader KP Munusamy, an O. Panneerselvam (OPS) supporter on Sunday said his party doesn't need support from any other political outfit.

Speaking to media, Munusamy said, "We don't need help from any other party including BJP. We follow legacy of late MGR and Amma."

This statement from the AIADMK leader comes a day after Tamil Nadu Dairy Minister K.T. Rajendra Balaji claimed that no harm can touch AIADMK as long as Prime Minister Narendra Modi is with them.

Munusamy further averred that, "There are minor differences between EPS and OPS which will vanish soon."

"Whatever affidavits we submitted to ECI are correct but the ones by Sasikala team are all forged", added Munusamy.

The Election Commission on March 23 froze the party name and the 'two leaves' symbol after factions led by chief minister K Palaniswami and former CM O. Panneerselvam staked separate claims to them months after the death of party supremo J. Jayalalithaa.

On August 21, AIADMK factions led by Palaniswami and Panneerselvam merged.(ANI)

TMC's jibe at Centre amid LPG crisis due to West Asia conflict

In an 'X' post, TMC said the government has "ek hi naara, line mein rahe desh bechara," pointing to past governmental measures including demonetisation, the COVID-19 vaccine rollout, the Special Identification Registration (SIR), and now the LPG shortage. The party described demonetisation as a "Tughlaqi farman" that forced ordinary citizens to wait in serpentine queues outside banks and ATMs for days to access their own money. The post also highlighted the 2020 COVID-19 oxygen crisis, when families stood in long lines outside hospitals and suppliers as the public health system collapsed.
