Agartala gang-rape case: Six people arrested, produced before court

Tripura Legislative Assembly's upcoming Budget Session will be held from March 13 to March 25, announced Ratan Lal Nath, Parliamentary Affairs Minister of Tripura, following a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) at the Assembly.

The application has been filed by the daughter of the deceased, who is also the Unnao rape survivor. She has sought enhancement of the 10-year sentence awarded to Sengar and other convicts.

"What has been seen in these last 15 years is that there is no law and order here. No industry has come, and the Rohingyas and Muslims from Bangladesh have just come here and made them voters here... These people never follow the Constitution. These people have sent their people to show the black flag there," Saha told ANI.

The 28 seat council is currently led by the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), with the Pradyot Bikram Manikya Deb Barma-led Tipra Motha party leading in the council with 16 seats. While the party crosses the majority mark in the council, it is supported by the BJP having 9 members.

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Monday said that people have to oust this Trinamool Government, which has been unleashing terror in Bengal for the last 15 years, and form a BJP government to restore democracy and peace.
