After Manipal, Nalanda University dedicates special corner in library for writings by Indian diplomats

The Nalanda University has announced creation of a special corner for writings by Indian Diplomats at its library on the occasion of the 77th Indian Foreign Service Day.

Nalanda (Bihar) [India], October 10 (ANI): The Nalanda University has announced the creation of a special corner for writings by Indian Diplomats at its library on the occasion of the 77th Indian Foreign Service Day.
A list of books written by Indian diplomats since the creation of the Indian Foreign Service has been prepared over the years by poet-diplomat Abhay K which is available in the public domain.
Nalanda University is an international university located in Rajgir, Nalanda, Bihar that hosts a rich library where international students, presently from more than 30 countries are studying.
Speaking about the importance of creating a corner of books written by Indian diplomats, Prof Abhay Kumar Singh, the Vice Chancellor of Nalanda University said, "We are delighted to announce on the occasion of 77th Indian Foreign Service Day to create a special corner for writings by Indian diplomats. I think while we are enriched with the wealth of knowledge and experience of our diplomats, this could be the best tribute we can offer to our distinguished cadre who have held our country's pride all over the world in the international arena."
Speaking about this welcome initiative of Nalanda University poet-diplomat Abhay K. said - "Indian diplomats have contributed significantly in creating a better understanding about India in the world and a better understanding of the world in India through their writings. As we celebrate the 77th IFS Day today, it's especially heartening to learn that Nalanda University, which is located in my hometown of Rajgir in Bihar has decided to create a special corner at its library to honour the rich legacy of writings by Indian diplomats."
Nalanda University University came into being on November 25, 2010 by a special Act of the Indian Parliament and has been designated as an "institution of national importance", and functions under the aegis of the Ministry of External Affairs.
Nalanda is inspired by the academic excellence and global vision of its historic predecessor and aspires to meet and set global standards of academic excellence and research and enable capacity building in all areas of higher learning.
The University is being supported by all the Member States of the East Asia Summit and Intergovernmental Memorandums of Understanding to that effect have been signed by 17 countries.
Previosly, the Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) has also dedicated a place for writings by Indian diplomats. (ANI)
