After Karunanidhi's demise, Stalin urges cadres to maintain peace

Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], Aug 07 (ANI): Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) working president M. K. Stalin on Tuesday urged all his party cadres to maintain discipline, following the death of his father and party president M. Karunanidhi.

Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], Aug 07 (ANI): Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) working president M. K. Stalin on Tuesday urged all his party cadres to maintain discipline, following the death of his father and party president M. Karunanidhi.
"Do not give room for untoward incidents, maintain peace. Hand over anti-socials to the police who may attempt to tarnish DMK. Cooperate with the police. Prove that DMK follows military discipline," Stalin said in a statement.
Stalin also thanked the doctors and management of Kauvery Hospital, where his late father was admitted.
"Five-time Chief Minister Karunanidhi led us in DMK for 50 years. For 75 years, he groomed an army for the Dravidian movement. None will ever be like him, but his ideals and discipline will run as a perennial river in our blood," he added.
Karunanidhi's body has left for his Gopalapuram residence, where it will stay till 1 am, following which it will remain at his daughter, Kanimozhi's CIT Colony residence till 4 am.
The Kalaignar's body will then be taken to the Rajaji Memorial for people to pay their last respects.
The five-time chief minister passed away on Tuesday after a prolonged illness. He was 94.
Tamil Nadu's Kalaignar breathed his last at Kauvery Hospital, where he was undergoing treatment for a Urinary Tract Infection (UTI).
Karunanidhi is survived by three wives and six children. (ANI)
