Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], June 23 (ANI): BSP supremo Mayawati once again gave a big responsibility to nephew Akash Anand, making him her sole successor along with the responsibility of National Coordinator.
BSP chief Mayawati has once again made nephew Akash Anand her successor as well as given him the responsibility of National Coordinator. Akash will now look after the party's work across the country. Mayawati announced this in the BSP's National Executive meeting held today. Akash was also present in the meeting where he touched Mayawati's feet. She blessed him by patting his back.
Mayawati had removed Akash from all the important posts of the party on 7 May in the middle of the Lok Sabha elections, calling him immature, but after the defeat in the Lok Sabha elections, Mayawati called the first meeting of the National Executive on Sunday which lasted for 3 hours.
Mayawati has also said that she will contest all the upcoming elections including the by-elections. That means now the party will also field its candidates in the by-elections to be held on 10 seats of the UP Assembly.
On Friday, June 21, BSP released the list of star campaigners for the by-elections to be held on two seats in Uttarakhand. Akash's name was second in this. It was then speculated that Mayawati's resentment towards Akash had gone away. By giving Akash back all the posts, Mayawati made it clear that Akash will now handle the party in the future. (ANI)
