New Delhi [India], March 3 (ANI): Delhi Lieutenant Governor (LG) VK Saxena on Monday acknowledged the Delhi Assembly for passing a motion thanking him for his address and said that a "mission-mode strategy" is needed to achieve developmental activities.
"I have received a letter dated February 28, 2025, from the Hon'ble Speaker, Delhi Legislative Assembly. This letter informs about the passing of the motion of thanks by the House for my address in the meeting of the Legislative Assembly held on February 25, 2025," Delhi LG stated in the letter.
He further mentioned that there was a "meaningful and positive discussion" in the House on his address.
"I am grateful to the House and all the Hon'ble Members for this honour. There was a meaningful and positive discussion in the House on my address, which is the vision document of the Government for the welfare of the people. We have to adopt a mission-mode strategy to implement the developmental activities mentioned in my address. I am very happy to know that the Government has already started action in this direction," he added.
"I once again congratulate the Hon'ble Members and extend my best wishes for their efforts for the all-around development of Delhi," he stated.
Earlier on February 25, VK Saxena, in his address to the Delhi Assembly on the second day of the first session of the 8th Legislative Assembly, said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's mantra of 'sab ka saath, sab ka vikas, sab ka vishwas, sab ka prayas, sab ka Samman' would be the guiding factor for the state government.
Further, he said that the government would focus especially on areas such as corruption, women's empowerment, the welfare of the poor, and world-class roads.
Speaking at the session, the LG said, "PM Narendra Modi's mantra of 'sabka sath, sabka vikas, sabka vishwas, sabka prayas, sabka samman' will be the guiding factor of my government... My government will stand up to the people's rising needs and expectations. My government will pay special focus on these 10 areas- corruption-free administration, women empowerment, the welfare of the poor, improvement in health services, good education model, world-class roads, clean and pollution-free Delhi, clean Yamuna, clean water, and regularisation of unauthorised colonies."
Earlier today, the Delhi Assembly discussed in detail the Comptroller and Auditor General's (CAG) report on the management of public health infrastructure and health services.
Delhi Speaker Vijender Gupta said that this report, presented in the House on February 28, 2025, exposed many "serious lapses and irregularities" in the Delhi government's health department.
Moreover, LoP MCD Raja Iqbal Singh criticised AAP after initiating a discussion on the Revised Budget Estimates 2024-25 and Budget Estimates 2025-26 in the special meeting of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi amid slogans raised by AAP councillors in protest. (ANI)
