Amaravati (Andhra Pradesh) [India], September 15 (ANI): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on Monday directed the district collectors to adopt a humanitarian approach to win the satisfaction level of people, and said that more preference should be given for field visits to know the realities instead of confining to files in the office.
Addressing the fourth collectors conference at the Secretariat today, the Chief Minister said that district collectors play a key role in taking the public policies and welfare schemes to people, and they should prove their efficiency through their performance. He advised the collectors to establish a new trend in administration.
The Chief Minister said that it is the collective responsibility of both elected leaders and district collectors to meet the expectations and aspirations of people through better performance.
Stating that complacency is not correct and collectors should strive hard to take public policies to the last mile, CM Naidu said Collectors should adopt technology and, at the same time, give preference to field visits to understand the ground realities.
He said the government achieved the highest level of satisfaction among people in pension distribution. He said the recently introduced Stree Sakthi - free travel facility for women in RTC services is a big success, and it will pave the way for the economic uplift of women. He said the free travel facility is going to change the energy levels and economic activity of women.
The Chief Minister opined that we are lagging behind in utilising the power of women, and if women's empowerment is fully achieved, it will lead to a higher growth rate.
CM said that the state government has been balancing both development and welfare through revenue generation, and as part of it, introduced the P-4 programme to bridge the gap between haves and have-nots.
Chief Minister Naidu stated that the previous government had destroyed the revenue system, and the state government has been taking steps to rectify the lapses by establishing a system to prevent tampering with land registrations. He said Collectors should focus on human resource development, Swachabaharath, and a circular economy. He said priority should be given to a healthy, wealthy and happy state with ease of living.
CM said that the state government achieved a 10.5 growth rate and plans to increase it to 15 per cent. He said that Andhra Pradesh developed the Swarnandhra vision 2047 on the lines of Vikasit Bharath 2047 of the Government of India. Collectors should consider the vision document as the Bhagavad Gita, the Bible and the Quran and work with commitment for the development of the state. (ANI)
