Action will be taken after Johnson & Johnson baby powder's sample test: Drug Controller

The Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) has issued an advisory to pharmaceutical manufacturers, importers, and marketing authorization holders to ensure strict compliance with the provisions of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940 and Rules, 1945 in the promotion and marketing of prescription medicines, particularly GLP-1 receptor agonists and similar drugs indicated for obesity and metabolic disorders

CPI(M) general secretary MA Baby on Sunday criticised Congress for announcing new schemes in Kerala, saying many of the benefits, including pension schemes for marginalised communities, were first introduced by the LDF during earlier governments.

According to officials, the accused were preparing fake protein supplements using malto powder, cocoa powder and flavouring agents. The products were then packed in containers labelled as popular brands such as Optimum Nutrition, Syntha-6 and Isopure.

"Now, in Indian waters, we have seen actions by both the USA and Israel. Indian waters should be preserved as a zone of peace, and that should be the approach of the Government of India. Unfortunately, India appears to be acting as a subordinate ally of the USA. The Government of India now seems to be supporting the USA's war efforts, which is objectionable and cannot be approved," the CPI (M) general secretary told ANI.

According to police officials, the girl was appearing for her board examination when she complained of severe stomach pain during the exam. She subsequently went to the washroom of the school premises, where she delivered the baby.
