"Achieved great heights in his life," NCP's Praful Patel condoles demise of former PM Manmohan Singh

Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MP Praful Patel on Friday expressed his condolences on the demise of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, noting that he achieved great heights throughout his life.

New Delhi [India], December 27 (ANI): Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MP Praful Patel on Friday expressed his condolences on the demise of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, noting that he achieved great heights throughout his life.
Patel recalled his time working with Dr. Singh and highlighted the former PM's unwavering focus on progress and development.
"Dr. Manmohan Singh ji was a very good person. He achieved great heights in his life by becoming the Prime Minister. His thinking was always for the progress and development of the country. I also got a chance to work with him. I am very sad that he is no longer among us today. I pay tribute to him," Patel said.
VCK Founder-President Thol. Thirumavalavan also expressed his grief on the demise of former PM Manmohan Singh.
"I paid my homage to Dr Manmohan Singh on behalf of my party...He did a lot of work for the nation...The nation should salute him for his great contribution to the nation," he said.
Manmohan Singh passed away at AIIMS, Delhi, on Thursday evening at the age of 92 due to age-related medical conditions. He had a sudden loss of consciousness at home after which he was rushed to the AIIMS Delhi.
His last rites will be performed at the Nigambodh Ghat in the national capital on Saturday afternoon.
Dr Manmohan Singh's political career spanned several decades, with notable positions including Finance Minister from 1991 to 1996, during which he spearheaded economic reforms that transformed India's economy.
Manmohan Singh became the 13th Prime Minister of India in 2004, succeeding Atal Bihari Vajpayee. His tenure is particularly remembered for his steady leadership through economic crises and for pushing forward policies that modernised India's economy.
After his second term, Dr. Singh retired from public life, having led India through a period of unprecedented growth and international recognition.
He was succeeded by Narendra Modi in 2014 after the Congress-led UPA lost the general elections. (ANI)
