Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], May 9 (ANI): Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi reacting to former Congress leader Acharya Pramod Krishnam's statement over Sam Pitroda's remark said Krishnam is speaking language Union Minister and BJP candidate Smriti Irani to defend her fearing her defeat on Amethi Lok sabha seat.
"What Acharya Pramod Krishnam is saying is not his statement but he is speaking the language of Smriti Irani. Smriti Irani knows that she is going to lose in Amethi, so she is adopting all kinds of tricks...The people of Amethi are going to lock the future of Smriti Irani, so Acharya Pramod Krishnam is using her language to defend her...," Priyanka Chaturvedi said.
A day ahead of this, Acharya Pramod Krishnam has said, "Sam Pitroda's statement isn't his own but Rahul Gandhi's. It is a statement against the principles of Mahatma Gandhi ji. I appeal to the PM to take action against people who make such statements, such thinking and such parties."
A massive political has taken over the nation over former Indian Overseas Congress chairperson Sam Pitroda's 'racist' rant saying those inhabiting the country's East look like 'Chinese' while those living down South bear resemblance with 'Africans'.
Faced with fury and criticism from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the BJP, as well as a cross-section of Opposition leaders, Pitroda stepped down as the chairman of the Indian Overseas Congress.
His resignation was accepted by Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge, with party general secretary Jairam Ramesh clarifying that Pitroda took the decision on his own accord.
Earlier, Acharya Pramod Krishnam on Monday made an explosive claim that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had vowed to overturn the Supreme Court's Ram Mandir verdict if Congress forms the government at the Centre.
The expelled Congress leader said that Rahul Gandhi at a meeting with his close aides stressed forming a "superpower commission" to overturn the SC verdict which paved the way for the construction of the Ram Mandir temple.
"I have spent more than 32 years in the Congress and when the Ram Mandir decision came, after getting advice from his wellwisher in America, Rahul Gandhi in a meeting with his close aides said that after the Congress government is formed, they will form a superpower commission and will overturn the Ram Mandir decision just like Rajiv Gandhi overturned the Shah Bano decision," said Acharya Pramod Krishnam.
