Kolar (Karnataka) [India], January 30 (ANI): Former Karnataka Chief Minister and BJP leader Basavaraj Bommai on Monday called the acceptance of the Kantharaj Backward Commission report nothing but a "Lok Sabha election stunt".
"Accepting the Kantharaj Backward Commission report was nothing but a Lok Sabha election stunt. Only the strong backward classes were deriving the benefits of reservation and the most backward classes needed to be rendered justice," Bommai said.
Speaking to reporters here on Monday before participating in a huge rally to protest against the the state government, he said that the backward classes are divided into A, B and C categories, and those in the first category were very backward and suffered injustice. They haven't gotten anything, as the benefits were enjoyed by the powerful communities. Those who haven't received anything must be rendered justice.
He termed accepting the Kantharaj Commission report a poll stunt.
When asked about Chief Minister Siddaramaiah addressing President Droupadi Murmu in singular language, Bommai criticised the Congress leader and said that she belongs to a most backward tribe and hails from the oppressed community. It was not correct on the part of Siddaramaiah to address her in a singular language. (ANI)
