Abhishek Banerjee is mastermind: Union Minister Shantanu Thakur on BJP supporter's mother death case

"The prime conspirator in the case is Abhishek Bandopadhyay. He wants to spread an atmosphere of fear in Santanu Thakur's area for his own electoral benefits. He wants to create fear in the general public. So that people cannot come out to vote," Union Minister of State Shantanu Thakur said.

North 24 Parganas (West Bengal) [India], September 30 (ANI): Union Minister of State Shantanu Thakur claimed on Friday that Trinamool Congress (TMC) General Secreatary Abhishek Banerjee is the mastermind behind the murder of a Bharartiya Janata Party (BJP) supporter's elderly mother Kanon Roy.
"The prime conspirator in the case is Abhishek Bandopadhyay. He wants to spread an atmosphere of fear in Santanu Thakur's area for his own electoral benefits. He wants to create fear in the general public. So that people cannot come out to vote,"  the MP from Bangaon said while speaking to reporters.
Charging the West Bengal police, Thakur said, "The police are guarding the houses of the accused. The police have become a slave. They said they will do five more murders, we will also see how big they are."
Union Minister of State Shantanu Thakur, Bangaon District BJP President Devdas Mondal and Gaighata MLA Subrata Thakur paid a visit to the house of the deceased on Friday to pay condolences to her family. 
A 62-year-old woman, Kanon Roy was allegedly murdered by TMC local youth leader Sameer Mallick in Gaighata of North 24 Parganas on Wednesday night. (ANI)
