Abhinandan does not have official social media account on Twitter, Instagram: Defence Ministry

New Delhi [India], Mar 6 (ANI): The Ministry of Defence on Wednesday stated that IAF’s Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman does not have any official social media account on Twitter and Instagram.
Varthaman recently shot down a Pakistani F-16 warplane before his MiG 21 was downed forcing him to bail out in Pakistani territory. He remained in the Pakistan custody for nearly 59 hours before returning home last week.
“Misinformation on the shooting of Pakistan Air Force F-16 by MiG-21 Bison are being spread on various social media sites,” Defence Ministry said.
“Additionally fake accounts of Wing Commander V Abhinandan have been created in the last one week. IAF has informed on March 6 that Wing Commander V Abhinandan does not have any official social media account on Twitter and Instagram and have advised all not to follow these accounts as they may contain malware,” the statement added.
